Three Arrested in East End Fight

Last evening around midnight city police were called to an east end residence in regards to a disturbance involving a possible fight When officers attended they found a 40 year-old male to be severely beaten inside the residence. It is alleged that three persons that were at the residence assaulted him. It appeared that a party had been taking place, all persons had been drinking heavily and are all known to each other. The victim was transported to hospital by ambulance and still remains there.
All three persons, two male adults and one female adult, were arrested and charged with one count of aggravated assault. This investigation is currently ongoing by Investigation Services and no other details will be released at this time.

Father & Son Arrested for Assault

A 46 year-old male and his 16 year-old son were both arrested on the 24th of October at 2:24 am on Huron Street and charged with one count of assault with a weapon. The youth was further charged with two counts of breach of probation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. It is alleged that the two assaulted a 45 year-old male that was known to them with a hockey stick. The incident occurred while the victim was sitting in his vehicle on Alexandra Street around 2 am last night. The victim received non-life threatening injuries.
The 16 year-old youth that was allegedly under the influence of alcohol at the time, was on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and not to consume any alcohol.
They are to appear in bail court.

Charged for Head Butting

47 year-old Frank Naccarato of 790 Town Line was arrested on the 23rd of October at 9:21 pm on Second Line West and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that at around 6 pm last evening the accused assaulted a male that was known to him by head butting him while the two were at a west end business. The accused is to appear in court on the 26th of October.

Possession

27 year-old Gregory Martellini of 198 Parkland Crescent was arrested at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre last night around 9 pm and charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance. It is alleged that while being booked in, correctional officers found him to be in possession of a small amount of hashish. He is to appear in court on the 3rd of December.

Another Arrested in Connection with Stolen Vehicles

A third male, a 17 year-old youth was arrested by Investigation Services on the 23rd of October at 7:02 pm at the city police station for his involvement in a rash of stolen vehicles from July to September of this year.
He has been charged with ten counts of theft over $5,000.00 and ten counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.00. It is alleged that the accused was involved in the theft of the following stolen vehicles:
A 1997 Ford F150 4x4 and a Ford Ranger stolen from City Centre Motors around the 15-16th
A 1997 Ford F150 4x4 stolen from an apartment complex lot on Trunk Road on the 16th of July.
A 2006 Ford F350 stolen from Maitland Motors on the 25th of July
A 1998 Ford Ranger was taken from a residence on McNabb Street sometime between the 8th -22nd of August
A 2004 Ford F250 4x4 stolen from Maitland Motors from the 25th- 27th of July.
A 2002 Ford F250 Super crew stolen from Highland Ford between the 1st to the 27th of August.
A 1994 Ford F150 stolen from Cambrian Nissan between the 6th to the 7th of September.
A 1997 Ford F150 stolen from Sault Transmission between the 14th to the 17th of September.
A 1998 Ford Super Cab stolen from Maple Leaf Motors between the 24th to the 27th of August.
He is to appear in bail court this morning.

The following break and enters were reported yesterday:

1) A residence on Cooper Street was entered on the 23rd of October between 1:50 and 2:50 pm. Jewellery was reported stolen.

2) A residence on Forest Avenue was entered sometime on the 23rd of October. Some groceries, coins, and medication were reported stolen.

3) There was an attempt break and enter reported to the Norgoma Ship parked at the St. Mary’s River Front sometime between the 22nd to the 23rd of October. Nothing was reported stolen.
