Second Male Charged in Drug Trafficking

The drug investigation conducted by the Sault Ste Marie Police Service’s Street Team continued yesterday resulting in a second male being arrested for his involvement in this drug trafficking incident:

A drug trafficking investigation conducted by the Sault Ste Marie Police Service’s Street Team Unit has resulted in a male being arrested. Michael Gillgrass, age 24, of 430 Nixon Road was arrested on the 4th of February at 4:35 pm at the Greyhound Bus Courier Express on Brock Street and charged with one count of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance. It is alleged that on the 28th of January 2008 at approximately 1:10 pm the accused attempted to ship a package that contained 1,645 grams of cannabis marihuana from the Greyhound Bus Terminal on Brock Street to a Thunder Bay Ontario address. The estimated street value of the drugs seized was $32,900.00.
The accused is to appear in court on the 10th of March.

The second male, 23 year-old Marco Minelli of 941 North Street was arrested on the 5th of February at 12:35 pm at his residence and also charged with one count of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance.
Marco Minelli is to appear in court on the 10th of March.

Outstanding Warrant

1) 22 year-old Shane Pankhurst of 281 Darling Street (upper apt.) in Brantford Ontario was arrested on the 5th of February at the city police station after turning himself in on an outstanding warrant. He was charged with one count of fail to appear court from the 18th of November 2003. He is to appear in court on the 19th of February.

2) A 14 year-old female youth was arrested on the 5th of February at 10:30 am at the court house on an outstanding warrant. She was charged with one count of fail to appear for prints from the 22nd of January. She is to appear in court on the 25th of March.
