The following two persons are to appear in bail court this morning: 1) 30 year-old Otis Williams of no fixed address was arrested on the 12th of February at 1:15 pm at Canadian Tire and charged with one count of theft under $5,000.
The following two persons are to appear in bail court this morning:

1) 30 year-old Otis Williams of no fixed address was arrested on the 12th of February at 1:15 pm at Canadian Tire and charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00 and one count of obstruct peace officer. It is alleged that on the 12th of February at approximately 1 pm the accused attended at Canadian Tire and stole a spoon, a self –lighting torch and a laser painter valued at $35.98. He was apprehended by store security and held for police. It is further alleged that when police were dealing with him he falsely identified himself.

2) A 17 year-old male youth was arrested on the 12th of February at 10:15 pm at the city police station after turning himself in on an outstanding warrant. He was charged with one count of fail to attend court from the 29th of January.

Shoplifting

1) 28 year-old Erin Conway of 59 Whitman Dam Road in Searchmont, Ontario was arrested on the 12th of February just before 7 pm at Sears in the Station Mall and charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00. It is alleged that on the 12th of February around 6:15 pm the accused attended at Sears and stole women’s clothing valued at $171.93. The accused was apprehended by store security and held for police. She is to appear in court on the 10th of March.

2) A 16 year-old youth was arrested on the 12th of February at 8:35 pm at his residence and charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00. It is alleged that on the 12th of February around 8pm the accused attended at Rome’s Independent Grocer on Great Northern Road and stole a case of Red Bull valued at $40.00. When confronted by store security the accused fled on foot to his residence where police located him shortly after. The accused is to appear in court on the 11th of March.

Three persons were arrested last evening as a result of a Landlord/Tenant dispute.

1) 62 year-old Carol Wierzbicki of 373 Sunnyside Beach Road was arrested at the city police station at 8:06 pm and charged with one count of being unlawfully in a dwelling house, one count of assault and one count of theft under $5,000.00.

2) 65 year-old Christa Taraniuk of 172 Turner Avenue was arrested at 7:35 pm on Korah Road and charged with one count of being unlawfully in a dwelling house, one count of assault and one count of theft under $5,000.00.

3) 43 year-old Terrance Taraniuk of 73 Creek Road was arrested at the police station at 11:38 pm and charged with one count of being unlawfully in a dwelling house and one count of assault.

It is alleged that on the 12th of February around 5 pm the accused Christa Taraniuk, the Landlord, attended at a west end apartment with the two other accused persons to forcibly evict the tenant. The tenant, a 22 year-old male, was pushed by the accused when the three forced their way in. When his 20 year-old girlfriend attempted to call police she was grabbed around the arms and wrists and the phone was taken from her hands. The female victim received injuries that did not require medical attention.
All three are to appear in court on the 17th.

There were two break and enters reported yesterday:

1) A residence on Fourth Line West was entered sometime on the 12th of February. A laptop was reported stolen.

2) An apartment on Wellington Street East was entered between 3 am - 3:30 am on the 12th of February. Stolen were a PS3 game system, various games, jewellery, a cell phone and some money.

Vehicle Entered

A vehicle parked at a business on Trunk Road was entered on the evening of the 12th of February. A black leather Oakland Raider jacket, a cell phone and a set of keys were stolen.
