August 14 Evening News A resident in the 400 block of Queen Street West reported that medication was stolen from her apartment. 42 year old Lylie-Jo Liscumb of 39 St. Basils Drive was arrested for breach of a release document.

A resident in the 400 block of Queen Street West reported that medication was stolen from her apartment.

42 year old Lylie-Jo Liscumb of 39 St. Basils Drive was arrested for breach of a release document. It is alleged that on the 13th of August she communicated with someone despite being on conditions to abstain from communicating with them. She will be appearing in court on September 9th.

An individual camping at Pointe Des Chenes Park reported the theft of an I-Pod touch green in color from her campsite.

Overnight Arrest

On the 14th of August 2013 at 0410 hours Officers on general patrol were alerted to a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of Mr. Transmission on Pim Street. Officers observed the vehicle to have its 4 way flashers activated and an audible alarm sounding. Upon approaching the vehicle officers located a male within the vehicle who was subsequently arrested for theft of that vehicle. The male was searched subsequent to arrest and was found to be in possession of property believed to be stolen, including a car stereo and change. In addition he was found to have in his possession small amounts of substances believed to be cocaine, oxycontin and wellbutrin as well as a canister of pepper spray.

Charged with Theft Over $5000, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Possession of a Controlled Substance (x3) is 29 year old Shawn McCall of 229 Poplar Avenue.  The accused will be attending bail court today.

Luring Investigation Update

The Sault Ste Marie Police Service Technological Crime Unit is continuing its investigation into several complaints of Internet Luring through the social media service “Facebook”

This investigation is ongoing and in its preliminary stages.

At this point there have been several teenage female victims identified in Sault Ste Marie.

In investigations of this complex nature, due to the involvement of the internet, it is possible that other Policing Partners may become involved in order to identify and or locate a suspect or additional victims.

The Sault Ste Marie Police request continued assistance in reporting like incidents by calling 705-949-6300.

Morning news:

A break in was reported to a residence on St. Georges Ave. West. Person(s) entered the residence through a broken window and cash was reported stolen.

A residence was broken into in the 700 block of Wellington St. E. The door appeared to have been pried open but nothing appears to have been stolen at this point.
