Domestic Related Arrest Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 37 year-old male at 1:16 am overnight on an outstanding warrant and charged him with one count of fail to appear court.

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 37 year-old male at 1:16 am overnight on an outstanding warrant and charged him with one count of fail to appear court. It is alleged that the officers were dispatched to the residence of the accused regarding a domestic dispute at approximately 1:16 am and at the time the accused was found to be wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear court on the 7th of October. The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.

Drug Search Warrant Results in Trafficking Charges

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 17 year-old male youth on the 24th of October at 4:36 pm at his residence and charged him with one count of possession of a controlled drug for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of a controlled drug.

It is alleged that on the 24th of October the Sault Ste. Marie Police Street Team Unit, with assistance from the Emergency Services Unit, executed a search warrant at 4:36 pm at the youth’s residence. During the search police located and seized 785 grams of marijuana, packaging materials, a scale, a marijuana grinder and a large quantity of cash money.

When the accused was arrested he was found in possession of 20 grams of marijuana and a quantity of cash in his pants. The total street value of the drugs is $16,100.00. The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.

Shoplifting Arrest

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 38 year-old Laura Williams of #4-262 Wellington Street West on the 24th of October at 6:29 pm at Zellers in the Station Mall and charged her with one count of theft under $5,000.

It is alleged that on the 24th of October the accused attended at Zellers and stole a bed in a bag valued at $89.97. She was apprehended by store security and held for police. She was subsequently charged and is to appear in court on the 28th of November.

Theft Reports

• Seven propane tanks were reported stolen from a local east end convenience store.

• A purse was stolen from a local laundry mat yesterday afternoon.

• A tailgate was reported stolen from a vehicle parked at a business on Great Northern Road.

Mischief Report

A vehicle parked in a parking lot on Great Northern Road was keyed.
