A break in was reported to Bruno’s All Day Breakfast on Great Northern Road. A television was reported stolen.

The office of Purvis Marine was reported broken into. The office was ransacked and it is not yet known if anything was stolen.

A vehicle that was left parked in the parking lot at 480 Pim Street had a window broken over night. Nothing was reported stolen from the vehicle.

40-year-old Steven King of 100 Coleridge Road in Newmarket Ontario was arrested and appeared in bail court this morning. It is alleged that the accused assaulted a male known to him by grabbing him by the throat. It is also alleged that the accused threatened to kill the same male. He is charged with one count of assault and one count of threatening.

A 28-year-old man was arrested by OPP officers in Thessalon in relation to offences committed in Sault Ste Marie on October 21. It is alleged that Mark Vasey of 44 Francis Street in Thessalon stole a 2003 pickup truck containing a shotgun from a residence in the 500 block of Douglas Street in Sault Ste Marie in the early morning hours of October 21. Further investigation by City Police determined that the residence had also been broken into allowing Vasey to acquire the keys to the stolen truck. While still investigating this, the OPP contacted the City Police to advise they had located the stolen truck and shotgun in Thessalon as well as the accused. City Police officers then travelled to Thessalon to return Mr.Vasey back to Sault Ste Marie. He was charged with Break and Enter, theft over and under $5,000, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possessing a weapon in a motor vehicle, driving while disqualified and 5 counts of breaching various conditions of his recognizance. He will be appearing in Bail Court later today.

A 33 year old male was charged with a domestic related mischief charge, threatening and a breach of a condition he had been released on earlier. It is alleged the male attended to a residence of his ex girlfriend and did damage to a door and later, threatened her over the phone. He will be appearing in Bail Court later this morning.

23 year old Amanda Chapman of 154 Albert Street East turned herself in to City Police early this morning on an Outstanding Fail to Appear Court charge from October 7. She will be appearing in Bail Court as well.

Break and enters

At approximately 10:30 pm last evening Golden Crust Pizza on Second Line East was broken into. Thieves made off with an empty cash register.

At approximately 10:40 pm Uncle Gino’s Cafe on Second Line West was broken into. A witness observes two males flee from the scene in a white truck headed westbound on Second Line West. Both males were wearing dark clothing and a third male may have been waiting in the truck. Liquor was taken in this break and enter. 

At approximately 12:40 am JC Sakura on Churchill Boulevard was broken into. An undisclosed amount of money was taken.

At approximately 1:35 am patrol officers discovered a break and enter at Gusto’s Bar and Grill on Trunk Road. Liquor and a cash box with an undisclosed amount of money was taken.

At approximately 4:20 am a break and enter was reported at Speedy Auto Glass on Great Northern Road. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken.

While at Speedy Auto Glass officers also received information that Presto Pizza & Family Restaurant was broken into. An undisclosed amount of money was also taken.
