On May 19 at approximately 8 p.m., police were called to 819 Trunk Road for a noise complaint. When police arrived they learned that one of the guests was wanted by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service for theft under $5000 and breach of probation.

On May 19 at approximately 8 p.m., police were called to 819 Trunk Road for a noise complaint. When police arrived they learned that one of the guests was wanted by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service for theft under $5000 and breach of probation. It is alleged that James Bolan, age 24 of McNabb Street, attended the Station Mall Wal-Mart on the 15th of May where he allegedly stole merchandise but ran from security before he could be apprehend. He is now going to Bail Court on May 20.

A 34-year-old female is in custody for Assault, Mischief Under $5000 and Theft Under $5000 in regards to a domestic incident in the city’s north end. It is alleged the accused during an altercation punched a female victim in the face, threw a vase through and window then stole the victim’s cellphone. The accused fled before police arrived but was arrested a short distance away. She is now going to Bail Court on May 20.

Weekend Property Crime Report

There were several property related incidents reported to, and investigated by police over this past long weekend.

On Friday, May 16 sometime before 2 p.m. a residence was entered on River Road and a PlayStation was taken.

On Saturday, May 17 an unknown person or persons threw a rock thru the front window of the Aarons Store in the Churchill Plaza. Once the window was broken the business was entered. At the time of police attendance it was unknown what, if anything was taken.

On Sunday, May 18 a residence in the 500 block of Wellington Street East was entered where electronics and jewelry were taken.

On Monday, May 19 a homeowner on Turner Avenue returned home after the weekend to realize that their home had been entered. Jewelry was taken from the home in this incident. 

On Monday, the 19th at approximately 10:20 p.m., a residence on Douglas street was entered and the homeowner, who was home at the time, managed to scare away the potential thief. Police attended the area and were unable to locate the person responsible. The suspect is described as a white male, mid 20s, goatee, wearing a black hoodie and jeans.

Three reports of mischief to property were also investigated by police over the weekend.

 A vehicle was vandalized on Great Northern Road early Friday evening.

A vehicle was damaged early Saturday morning after a beer bottle was thrown at it while driving on St Georges Avenue.

 A house was egged on McNabb Street Saturday evening.
