A vehicle parked in the 300 block of Spadina Ave. was entered overnight. Keys and CDs were stolen.

City Police attended to the Albert and Tancred Street area this afternoon regarding a male behaving strangely. Upon their arrival to the scene they found a male with no shirt on, yelling and waving a hammer around. At one point it is alleged the male threatened one of the officers that he was going to hit him in the head with the hammer. As a result 20 year old Dylan King of James Street  was arrested and charged with possession of weapons dangerous, threatening to cause bodily harm, causing a disturbance, resist arrest and breach of probation. He will be appearing in Bail Court March 12th.

Morning news

Last evening officers from the Sault Ste. Marie Drug Enforcement Unit and the Crime Suppression Unit conducted a vehicle stop. A search of the vehicle located 99 grams of marijuana, 85 grams of cocaine, 18 percocet tablets and 28 grams of crack cocaine.  

The estimated street value of the seized drugs is $12,875 dollars.

Officers also seized a large amount of money as well as 3 scales and packaging material.

39-year-old Rui Augusto of Hillside Drive has been charged with three counts of possession of a controlled drug or substance for the purpose of trafficking, one count of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 related to the seized money and one count of fail to comply with a recognizance for failing to abide by his conditions of keep the peace and be of good behavior.

29-year-old Nelson Alves of Silverdale Drive has been charged with three counts of possession of a controlled drug or substance for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 related to the seized money.

Both males will appear in bail court this morning.

20-year-old Joseph Fabiano, of Walnut Street, was arrested for theft under $5000 on March 10, 2014. It is alleged he attended Romes on Great Northern Road and stole $137 worth of meat. He was arrested as he left without paying. Upon his arrest, he was found to be in possession of 58 fishing lures he stole earlier from Canadian Tire. The total value on the lures was $746. Mr. Fabiano was also charged with breaching his probation order. Mr. Fabiano was also wanted on a warrant from February 25, 2014, when it is alleged he stole $13 worth of bologna from Walmart at the Station Mall and breached probation. He will appear in bail court on the 11th of March, 2014.  

On the 10th of March police responded to a report of a break and enter to a residence in the 500 block of Farwell Terrace.  Items taken were jewellery and clothing.
