MISSING PERSON – Jana Lynn SINCLAIR

Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing person. Jana Lynn SINCLAIR was last seen on June 20, 2009 at 6 pm at a downtown residence. She was headed to a Willow Street address and failed to show. SINCLAIR is 24 years old, 5’9”, 180 pounds, has brown hair and brown eyes. If anyone has information pertaining to this missing person please contact the City Police.

Domestic Related Arrest:

1) An 18 year-old male was arrested on the 23rd of June at 2:05 am at the city police station and charged with one count of mischief and two counts of assault. It is alleged that on the 22nd of June at approximately 2:45 pm the accused attended at an apartment where his girlfriend was, got into a verbal argument with her and assaulted her by holding her down and choking her. A second female at the apartment, and a friend of the victim, was kicked by the accused when she attempted to intervene. It is further alleged that the accused smashed a number of dishes, glassware and a television in the apartment. The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.

2) Female Charged after Internal Theft at Workplace:
23 year-old Philisha Sutherland of 4782 Second Line West was charged on the 22nd of June at 11 am at her residence with one count of theft under $5,000.00. It is alleged that on the 22nd of April, while the accused was working at Wardlaw Fuels on Wellington Street West, she took a total of $38.59 worth of merchandise making no attempt to pay for the items. Video footage showed the accused taking two cans of Pepsi, one sandwich and four packs of cigarettes. Each time cigarettes were taken the accused would punch the price into the till but never put money into the till. The accused is to appear in court on the 27th of July.

Shoplifter Arrested:

A 17 year-old male youth was charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00 on the 22nd of June at 1:40 pm at Zellers on Northern Avenue after he allegedly attended at the store with another 17 year-old youth and stole items from the store. The accused is to appear in court on the 28th of June. The second male was diverted under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Property Crimes Reported Yesterday:

Mischief Reports:

• A vehicle parked in the 100 block of Albert Street East was damaged after being shot at by a paintball gun.
• A picture window of a residence in the 100 block of Tilley Road was broken when a rock was thrown through it.
• A licence plate of a vehicle parked on Amber Street was spray painted.
• A driveway of a residence in the 300 block of Parkland Crescent was spray painted.
Theft Reports:
• A Fender Acoustic guitar was stolen from a garage on North Street.
• A Mountain bike was stolen from the General Hospital property.

Break and Enter Report:

A residence in the 500 block of Queen Street West was entered – it is not known what was taken.
