The following three persons will be appearing in bail court this morning:

1. A 21 year-old male was arrested at his centrally located residence on the 7th of January at 11:11 pm and charged with one count of assault with a weapon and one count of possession of weapon for purpose dangerous to public. It is alleged that on the 7th of January around 11:00 pm the accused got into a verbal argument with his stepmother at their residence and slashed her in the face area with a knife. The victim received non-life threatening injuries that did not require any medical attention. The name of the accused is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.

2. A 47 year-old male was arrested on the 7th of January just after 9 pm at his west end residence regarding domestic related incidents. He has been charged with one count of assault with a weapon, two counts of threatening death or bodily harm and four counts of breach of probation. It is alleged that back on the 16th of January 2007 the accused threatened to kill his ex-common law partner at her centrally located residence. It is further alleged that on the 5th of January 2008 the accused attended at the victim’s residence again and refused to leave. A verbal argument ensued and the accused threatened to shoot the victim and then grabbed a pair of scissors and chased her. The victim was able to get away unharmed. At the time of the incidents the accused was on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behavior and not to molest, harass, or annoy the victim.

3. A 44 year-old male was arrested on the 7th of January just after 10 pm at his ex-girlfriend’s east end residence and charged with two counts of breach of a release document. It is alleged that on the 7th of January the accused attended at his ex- girlfriend’s residence and at the time he was on a recognizance release order not to communicate with her or attend at her residence.

The following break and enters were reported yesterday:

1) A residence on Maple Street was entered sometime overnight on the 7th of January. A Play Station 3 and an X-Box 360 were reported stolen.

2) A residence on Grosvenor Avenue was entered during the morning hours on the 7th of January. It is not known at this time what was stolen.

The following mischief reports were taken yesterday:

1) The front of the instant teller machine was damaged at the Royal Bank on Wellington Street West sometime between 4 pm on the 4th of January and 8:20 am on the 7th of January.

2) A front window at Northland Music on Queen Street East was smashed sometime overnight on the 7th of January.

3) A vehicle that was parked on Queen Street East was keyed sometime during the day on the 7th of January.

4) A door to a residence on Albert Street West was kicked in around 11:55 pm last night. No entry was gained.
