Evening news: On February 28 police stopped a vehicle on Queen Street East. A check of the males in the car revealed that there was a warrant for a 17-year-old passenger for breach of probation.

On February 28 police stopped a vehicle on Queen Street East. A check of the males in the car revealed that there was a warrant for a 17-year-old passenger for breach of probation. Upon being searched after arrest the male was found to be in possession of approximately 28 grams of marijuana and approximately 7 grams of cocaine. The total value of the drugs is in excess of $1000. The male will appear in bail court on Monday charged with possession of narcotics x 2. Two 19-year-old males in the vehicle were also found to be on bail conditions to abstain from communicating with each other. One of the males will be appearing in court on March 10 and the other in bail court on March 3 both charged with breach of undertaking. Their names are not being released at this time to avoid identifying the young offender.

A 30-year-old male was arrested in relation to allegations regarding his 13-year-old step-daughter. It is alleged that between March of 2013 and February of 2014 the accused inappropriately touched his step daughter on numerous occasions. It is further alleged that in February of 2014 the accused assaulted the same victim by dragging her out of bed by her foot and stepping on her. He is charged with sexual assault, sexual interference and assault and will be appearing in court on March 31.

Afternoon news

A resident in the 100 block of Andrew Street reported the theft of a cable box, phone box and a router from their apartment.

A 17-year-old male was arrested for possession of narcotics after a search of his vehicle revealed a small quantity of marijuana. A 16-year-old male in the vehicle was also found to have a small quantity of marijuana in his jacket pocket. Both will be appearing in court on March 25.

Morning news

A 20-year-old male was arrested overnight for an incident which occurred on February 22. It is alleged the male was in the company of persons under the age of 16 years when he was on conditions not to be. He will be appearing in Bail Court later this morning.

A 38-year-old male was arrested February 26 for sending threatening text messages to his common law spouse. He was also on conditions from an undertaking issued in Thunder Bay which directed him to keep the peace and be good. He will be appearing in Bail Court later today as well.

A 48-year-old male was also arrested on the 26 and charged with domestic assault. It is alleged he began arguing with his ex-wife over the exchange of clothing which then escalated into him grabbing and pushing her. He also will be appearing in Bail Court.
