Suspect arrested in Pentagon Boulevard assault investigation

Police were on scene at a residence in the 100 block of Pentagon Boulevard on Saturday, July 3, 2021.

Police have arrested Jordan Bumbacco in relation to an assault incident that occurred on Pentagon Boulevard on July 3.

A news release issued today by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Services alleges that the 32-year-old struck the victim in the head with a baseball bat causing serious injuries.

Bumbacco was located and arrested yesterday on Chapple Avenue.

On July 14, 2021, officers with Patrol Services arrested 32-year-old Jordan Bumbacco on outstanding warrants.

On July 3, 2021, officers responded to a dispute in the 0-100 block of Pentagon Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers found a male victim suffering from serious injuries. He was transported to hospital.

The investigation determined the victim was struck in the head with a baseball bat. As a result of the investigation, the accused was identified as a suspect and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On July 14, 2021, officers attended a residence in the 0-100 block of Chapple Avenue on an unrelated matter and located the accused. Officers identified the accused, determined he was wanted and he was arrested.

He is charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and breach of recognizance.

He was held for bail court.
