A 42 year old male is in custody and will attend Bail Court on Monday morning charged with assault. It is alleged that on the 22 SEPT 2013 at about 02:10 a.m., a female victim and the accused engaged in an argument that escalated into the accused becoming upset and pushing the victim into a wall, pushing the victim over the living room coffee table onto the floor and pinning her onto a couch.

On September 22, 2013, at 2 a.m., patrol officers checked a vehicle driving on Abbott Street.
Upon further investigation it was learned that the driver had consumed an alcoholic beverage. A roadside test was performed and as a result the accused was arrested. Upon arrest the accused was searched and a small amount of marihuana was located.
Charged with drive over 80 mg/100 ml of blood and possession of a controlled substance is 25-year-old David Dowding of 8 Henrietta Street. He is scheduled to appear in court on October 28.
