Arrests
On June 1st 2014 at approximately 2:00 a.m. police were called to the King St. parking lot for a male damaging the parking booth. Upon arrival the male fled but police were able to locate the male after running through several residential properties. Charged with mischief under $5000 and trespass by night is 22 year old Lucas Pollari of Richards Landing. He will appear in court on July 7 2014.
48 year old Greg Falkins of Panoramic Dr. was arrested on an outstanding warrant for the charge of mischief under $5000. It is alleged that on the 25th day of February the accused slashed tires on a vehicle of a person known to the accused. He will appear in court on July 7 2014.
57 year old Albert King of Birkshire Pl. attended at the police station with his surety in an intoxicated state. Mr. King had previously been released on a Recognizance of Bail with a condition not to consume alcohol. The accused was taken into custody, charged with that breach and is being held for Bail Court.
Thefts
Theft of a vehicle was reported from a residence in the east end. Stolen was a 2009 red Pontiac Vibe Lic # BETP 241
Thefts from vehicles were reported in the area of Goulais Ave., Retta St., Medow Park Cr. and Chambers Ave. a wallet, coins, a GPS and sunglasses were reported missing.
Theft of a purse was reported by a victim at Rome’s Grocery Store
Two mountain bikes were reported stolen from the yard in the 1000 block of Queen St. East
A 16-year-old male youth will appear in court on the 8th of July after being charged with mischief. Police were called to family dispute at 6:24 p.m. where it is alleged the accused kicked in a window belonging to a family member’s residence.
At approximately 6 p.m. police were called once again for a bear in and around the senior’s residence and hub trail entrance on the east side of Northern Avenue.
Police were also called to the Nichol Avenue and Doncaster Road area for what the caller believed to be a large wolf in the area. Police were unable to locate the animal.
19-year-old William Elie of Queen St. East is in custody facing several charges after police were called to a dispute on Wellington Street 9:35 p.m. Elie attended the apartment of a person known to him and threatened to burn down the residence. The accused left and returned a short time later with a gas can. The accused began dumping gas on the floor and stairs and said he was going to burn the victim. The accused then attended the bottom of the stairs and lit the gas on fire. The victim managed to put out the fire with a bucket of water. The accused then told the victim if they called the Police he was going to come back and set them on fire while they were sleeping. Elie has been charge with 1 count of arson, possession of an incendiary material for the purpose of committing arson, uttering threats (3 counts), breach of the conditions of a recognizance (3 counts) for a curfew violation, drinking violation and interfering with the victim as well as a breach of a probation order. He will be in WASH court this morning.
