25 year old Tina Waboose of Bawahting Miikun St. was arrested early this morning by City Police officers and charged with assault, mischief, Taxi fraud, theft and trespass by night. It is alleged that Miss Waboose failed to pay for a taxi fare and was later picked up by the same cab driver at a different location. At this time the accused punched the cab driver in the shoulder, damaged the cab radio and then stole the keys. She was later located hiding in the back yard of a residence on Kingsmount. She will be appearing in Provincial Court on March 27.
On the 22nd of February 2014, the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service investigated a domestic assault complaint. Officers learned that a female had been assaulted on the 21st of February 2014 by a 24-year-old male who is in a common-law relationship with her. The assault consisted of the male choking the victim. The victim did not require any medical attention. On the 22nd of February 2014, the accused then unlawfully entered a dwelling belonging to a male known to them and was arrested. The accused has been charged with assault, unlawfully in a dwelling and will appear in bail court on the 24th of February 2014.
On the 22nd of February 2014, Sault Ste. Marie Police located 19-year-old Anthony Joseph Hohmeyer of Bearcreek Avenue, Batchewana Ontario in the downtown area. The accused was arrested on an outstanding warrant for three counts of assault with a weapon and one count of theft under $5,000. The offence date for the charges was December 2013. The charges are in relation to the accused spraying three people known to him with bear spray and stealing a set of keys from one of the victims. He will appear in bail court on the 24th of February 2014.
On the 22nd of February 2014, the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service investigated a domestic assault complaint. Officers learned that a female had been assaulted by her ex boyfriend, a 40 year old male. The assault consisted of the victim being punched by the accused. The victim did required medical treatment for non life threatening injuries. The accused has been charged with assault. The accused was also on a Probation order and was further charged with four counts of breach of probation. He will appear in bail court on Monday February 24th, 2014.
