A 20-year-old male was arrested today at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre while serving an intermittent sentence (weekends) for domestic related offences.

A 20-year-old male was arrested today at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre while serving an intermittent sentence (weekends) for domestic related offences. The male is currently on probation stemming from a criminal harassment conviction and it is alleged that since 23 Apr 14 he has left the victim six voicemails, sent her a lengthy email, and attended at her place of employment, all of which are against the conditions of his probation.  He will be back in bail court tomorrow.

The stolen silver Audi from Algoma Auto Sales that was reported on Friday was recovered in the Wasaga Beach area.  A male and female from Sault Ste. Marie were arrested by the OPP in relation to that incident.

Thefts from vehicles were reported on upper Pine St. Included in the stolen goods was a passport. Several thefts from vehicles have been reported over the weekend. All victims had left their vehicles unlocked with valuables inside.

A 2002 Toyota Rav4, grey in colour, was stolen from Millcreek Drive sometime since yesterday afternoon. Ontario licence # BBJP311. The vehicle's keys have been accounted for and it had been left locked in the driveway.

On the 26th of April 2014 at 11:30 p.m., the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service investigated a domestic assault complaint. Officers learned that a male had been assaulted by his male common-law partner. The assault consisted of the victim being slapped.  The victim did not require any medical attention. The accused has been charged with domestic assault and will appear in court on May 28, 2014.

On the 27th of April 2014, City Police on patrol at McNabb Street and Black Road observed a vehicle being driven erratically.  The vehicle was stopped and officers noted that the driver appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. As a result of the investigation 49-year-old Steven Pruce of Highway 17B Garden River was arrested and charged with impaired driving and over 80.  He will appear in court on June 2 for those offences.  The accused was also on a Conditional Sentence Order stemming from charges in 2013 investigated by the OPP with a condition of curfew which he breached. He will appear in Bail court on April 29 for that offence.
