EDITOR'S NOTE: One of the entries in this police report has been edited to reflect that the subject of the entry entered into a peace bond.
On the 29th of March at 6:30 a.m., City Police attended to the 100 block of Wellington Street East for a report of a motor vehicle collision and information that one of the drivers was possibly impaired. Officers noted that the accused appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. As a result of the investigation 23-year-old Byron Corbiere of Wellington Street East was arrested and charged with impaired driving and over 80. He will appear in court on May 5, 2014.
On the 29th of March at 9:30 a.m., City Police received a report of a disturbance in the 700 block of People’s Road. Police located a male victim complaining of an assault. It is alleged that 32-year-old Matti McClelland of Willow Avenue assaulted the male by punching, kicking and pushing him. The victim did require medical treatment for non life threatening. The accused has been charged with aggravated assault and will appear in WASH court on March 30, 2014.
Jessica Pilot, age 19 years of Wellington St. E, was arrested on Albert St. E at approximately 8 p.m. charged with two counts of possession under the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act. Found on her person were two syringes containing morphine and cocaine. She will appear in court on 05 May 2014.
[Peace bond], age 18 years of Trunk Road, was arrested and charged with assault on two persons after police were called to the Sault Area Hospital. She will appear in court on 05 May 2014.
Derrick Cadreau, age 34 of Grace St., was arrested and charged at 11:30 p.m. on Gore St. after police stopped a suspicious vehicle. Cadreau, the passenger of the vehicle, was found to have a baggie of cocaine in his possession. He is charged with breach of probation and possession of the cocaine under the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act. He will appear in court on 05 May 2014.
Amanda Artuso, age 30 of Beverly St. and Scott Masecaiz, age 25 of Kerr Drive, were arrested and charged at 1:30 a.m. when their vehicle was checked on Cathcart St. at Beverly St. Artuso was the subject of a curfew condition of her probation and was charged with breaching that condition. Both were also charged with possession under the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act when marihuana was located in the vehicle by K9 officer Justice. They will appear in court on 5 May 2014.
Police also attended six loud party/noise complaints and several calls for intoxicated persons overnight.
