On Wednesday, Sault Police officers charged a 29-year-old man with obstructing and resisting a peace officer.

At around 8:30 a.m., a 911 caller reported an unwanted person inside someone’s shed in the 600 block of Lennox Avenue.

“Officers were dispatched to the residence,” police said in a news release, where they attempted to speak with the accused.

He had barricaded the shed door and was refusing to open it.

“Officers gained entry into the shed and the accused continued refusing the officers’ commands and resisted arrest. Officers were able to gain control of the accused and they were arrested,” police said.

Daniel Campbell is charged with:

  • Obstruct Peace Officer
  • Resist Peace Officer
  • Failure to Comply with Release Order – Other Than to Attend Court
  • Failure to Comply with Probation Order
  • Failure to Attend Court After Having Appeared

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing and remanded. None of the allegations have been tested in court and Campbell is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
