A Sault Ste. Marie man faces impaired driving charges after his motorcycle collided into a residence on May 22.

In a press release issued this morning, Sault Police say they responded to a call of a single-vehicle collision in the 100 block of Henrietta Avenue. Police say the accused was taken to the hospital and treated for injuries.

According to police, officers developed grounds to believe the driver's ability to operate a vehicle was impaired. However, due to injuries sustained by the accused, police say they were unable to conduct standardized sobriety testing.

Police say a blood warrant was requested and samples revealed the accused's ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.

As a result, Roger Milia was arrested on Friday and charged with impaired driving and dangerous operation.

He was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on August 30, 2021.
