Evening news : On September 29, 2013 at 12:10 am a compliance check was done on the accused Jayme Bellerose. Court conditions revealed that the accused is on a curfew and also to notify police of any address change.

On September 29, 2013 at 12:10 am a compliance check was done on the accused Jayme Bellerose.  Court conditions revealed that the accused is on a curfew and also to notify police of any address change.  Information was received that the accused had moved out days before, further the accused was on probation to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.  On October 28, 2013 the accused Jayme Ryan Bellerose age 27 of 4 Alpine Drive is charged with breach of recognizance X 2 and breach of probation and will appear in bail court October 29, 2013 at 10:00 am.

On October 28, 2013 police were called to the Station Mall, 293 Bay Street regarding an alleged shoplifter.  The accused put 16 packages of cheese in a reusable grocery bag and left the Walmart store.  The accused was confronted by security.  The accused was put under arrest but pulled away and a short foot pursuit began.  After being apprehended and a struggle between two security personnel the accused was cuffed. The accused then threatened the security officer with bodily harm.  Police arrived and the accused was charged with theft under $5000, threatening and resist arrest.  Douglas Phillip Boucher, age 39 will appear in court on December 2, 2013 at 9:00 am.

Motor Vehicle Collision with Injuries from October 27th

On the 27th of October shortly before 9 am City Police attended at the intersection of Sackville Road and Second Line East for a motor vehicle collision with injuries.

A car operated by 54-year old Deborah Adams of Northridge Road was travelling southbound on Sackville Road.  It is alleged that a truck operated by 39-year old Kelly Bernatchez of Woodlawn Avenue was travelling eastbound on Second Line East and failed to stop for the red light.

The two vehicles collided which resulted in the car rolling over. 

Both drivers were taken to the Sault Area Hospital for treatment of non life threatening injuries and had both been wearing their seat belts.

Damage to the pickup truck was described as severe and the car was destroyed.

Kelly Bernatchez was issued two tickets under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario. 

One for Red Light-Fail to Stop and the other for Drive-No Licence for a recently expired drivers licence.

Morning news:

On October 27th Patrol Officers attended a residence on McFadden Ave. for a domestic dispute.  Officers learned that a 42 year old female had assaulted her husband. No injuries were reported in the incident. Officers arrested and charged the female with Assault. She will appear in court on Dec. 4th.

On October 27th Patrol Officers were called to Sears in the Station Mall for a shoplifter. Officers arrested and charged Jody Edwards, age 22 of 90 Grace St. Sault Ste. Marie with Theft under $5,000.00. A records check revealed that Edwards was on a Probation Order not to attend Sears. He has also been charged with two counts of Breach of Probation. He will appear in court on October 28th.

On October 27th, Police Officers were called to a residence for a disturbance. Officers met Alicia Haldenby, age 28 of 181 James St. there. A police records check revealed she was wanted on an arrest warrant for failing to re-attend court on a theft under $5,000.00 charge. She was arrested on this warrant and will now appear in court on Dec 2nd.

On October 12th 2013 at 4:00 am an adult male was assaulted at a residence on MacKenzie St. Police Officers learned three males assaulted the victim. The victim did not require medical treatment. On October 27th at 9:10 pm two of the suspects turned themselves in at the Police Station. Arrested and charged with Assault are: Gunner Shaganash, age 19 of 741 MacKenzie St. and Michael Miller, age 41 of 329 Alexandra St. Miller at the time of his arrest was also wanted on outstanding charges of Driving while Disqualified and Failing to Attend Court. Miller will appear in court on October 28th. Shaganash will appear in court on Dec 2nd.

On October 28, 2013 just after midnight Patrol Officers arrested a 32 year old male with several domestic related charges. Officers learned that the male had assaulted his common in law partner, along with choking her. Further he threatened to harm their children and he also broke the victim’s telephone. The victim received minor injuries in the incident. Officers arrested and charged the male with Assault, three counts of Threatening Bodily Harm or Death, Mischief under $ 5,000.00 and Choking. He will appear in court on October 28, 2013.

On October 28, 2013 at 2:10 am Police Officers arrested and charged a 22 year old female with Threatening Death or Bodily Harm and Criminal Harassment following a domestic dispute. Officers learned that the female, who was separated from the victim for three months, began texting her ex boyfriend repeatedly yesterday threatening him. When the texts would not cease Police were notified. The female will appear in court on October 28, 2013.
