Assault with a Weapon A 15 year-old male youth was arrested on the 19th of October at 4:50 pm at a local youth home and charged with one count of assault with a weapon and two counts of breach of probation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Assault with a Weapon

A 15 year-old male youth was arrested on the 19th of October at 4:50 pm at a local youth home and charged with one count of assault with a weapon and two counts of breach of probation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. It is alleged that on the 19th of October around 4:20 pm the accused threw a toy at the face of a house worker causing an injury that did not require medical attention. At the time of the incident the accused was on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and not to harass the worker.

Impaired Driving

35 year-old Melindy Vanbuskirk of 66 Capp Avenue was arrested on the 22nd of October at 1:56 am on Dennis Street and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consumer over legal limit. It is alleged that on the 22nd of October at around 1:49 am the accused was observed by city police stopped at the red light at the intersection of Dennis Street and Albert Street. When the light turned green the accused did not proceed. After a few second the accused accelerated southbound and then pulled to the side of the road and stopped. When officers checked the accused they found her to be under the influence of alcohol. The accused is to appear in court on the 26th of November.

Male Charged with Assault

A 31 year-old male was arrested on the 19th of October at 10:47 pm at a downtown bar and charged with two counts of assault. It is alleged that the accused attended at a downtown bar and confronted his ex-wife and a male friend that were sitting together in the bar. The accused punched the male in the face and knocked him to the ground and pushed the ex-wife. The male received non-life threatening injuries. The accused is to appear in court on the 26th of November.

Driving without a Lisence

36 year-old Donald Cory of #317-138 East Street was arrested on the 19th of October at 6:50 pm on Brock Street and charged with one count of operate motor vehicle while disqualified and one count of fail to appear for prints. It is alleged that city police stopped and checked a Buick Regal on Brock Street on the 19th of October at around 6:45 pm. A check of the driver, the accused, revealed that he was disqualified from driving and also that he was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear for prints in August. He is to appear in court on the 26th of November.

Possession of Drugs

1) A 17 year-old male youth was arrested at a local high school on the 19th of October at 11:15 am and charged with once count of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled substance. It is alleged that on this date, city police received information that this accused was selling drugs from his vehicle in the parking lot. When officers checked the accused and the vehicle they located 2.5 grams of marijuana and packaging materials. The accused is to appear in court on the 26th of November.

2) 18 year-old Andrew Gregoire of 7182 Highway 17 North and a 17 year-old male youth were arrested on the 21st of October at 2:30 am on Selby Road and charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance. It is alleged that on the 21st of October at around 2:25 am city police were dispatched to check on a suspicious vehicle that was parked at the dead end of Selby Road. When officers checked the vehicle and the two occupants they located a small amount of marijuana. Gregoire is to appear in court on the 26th of November and the youth on the 27th.

Possession of Stolen Property

20 year-old Matthew Thibodeau of 22 Albert Street East was arrested on the 22nd of October at 3:00 pm on Albert Street East and charged with two counts of possession of property obtained by crime and one count of breach of probation. It is alleged that on the accused attended at a local pawn shop and pawned two stolen cordless drills and a reciprocating saw valued at $200.00. It is further alleged that when officers observed the accused walking on Albert Street East, stopped and checked him, he was carrying a gym bag that contained two more stolen cordless drills. He is to appear in court on the 26th of November.

Charged with Mischief

43 year-old Paul Brunette of #1- 324 Maretta Avenue was arrested on the 21st of October at 9:40 am and charged with one count of mischief. It is alleged that on the 21st of October the accused was at a local bar and when asked to leave due to intoxication, became upset and broke a door window when he kicked it. He is to appear in court on the 26th of November.

The following break and enters were reported over the weekend and last night:

1) A residence on Albert Street West was entered on the 21st of October at around 12:49 am. The resident woke up when hearing noises inside. Two youths were observed running outside. The only description provided was one of the youths had a backpack and a belt with silver skulls on it. Officers checked the area with negative results. A Play station 2 and 2 cases of pop was reported stolen.

2) The Northern Credit Union ON Bay Street was entered at approximately 2:29 am this morning. A Laptop and a large overhead projector were reported stolen.

3) There was an attempt break and enter reported at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Building on Wellington Street West at approximately 4:52 am this morning. An alarm was activated and no entry was gained.

4) Fabricland Distributors on Queen Street East was entered sometime after 5 pm on the 21st and 5 am on the 22nd. Some cash was reported stolen.

5) A garage on Country Club Place was entered on the 22nd of October sometime overnight.

Three male youths are currently in custody after City Police responded to an armed robbery at the Tim Hortons on Trunk Road that occurred at 3:39 am this morning:

City Police were called to an armed robbery at approximately 4 am this morning to the Tim Hortons on Trunk Road. Three males entered the coffee shop around 3:59 am this morning armed with a gun, a sledge hammer and a table leg. All three males were dressed in black and wearing masks. The three fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. City police, with the assistance of the Canine Unit, tracked and located all three the suspects and the arrests were made.
The clerk was not physically harmed in the robbery.

Investigation Services are continuing the investigation at this time. More details will be released later this morning.
