Afternoon news On October 21, 2013 police responded to a domestic assault in the 700 block of Second Line West. On attending investigation revealed that the young son had called the police because his father was hurting his mother.

On October 21, 2013 police responded to a domestic assault in the 700 block of Second Line West.  On attending investigation revealed that the young son had called the police because his father was hurting his mother.  It is alleged that the victim was being slapped repeatedly by the accused. Police arrested the accused, age 35 for assault.  The accused will appear in bail court on October 21, 2013 at 10 a.m.

Break and Enter:  Police responded to a break and enter call in the 100 block of Laura Street.  The resident woke to find his garage had been entered.  The trunk of his vehicle was open and had been rummaged through.  It is believed that casino cards and an International Bridge card were taken.

Morning news

A break in was reported to the Jessie Irving Children’s centre on Ruth Street overnight. Police attended and found entry had been gained through a broken out window. A laptop computer was confirmed stolen.

A 33 year old male was arrested on October 20th for a domestic related assault. It is alleged he and his spouse got into a verbal argument which escalated into him pushing her down onto a bed, dragging her off of the bed and pushing her down onto the floor. He will be appearing in Bail Court later this morning.

A 43 year old male was charged with domestic mischief after he damaged a door of the residence of his ex common law. He was also on probation not to attend to her residence, not to communicate with her and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. As a result he was further charged with 3 counts of breaching his conditions and will be appearing in Bail Court later this morning as well.

On the 19th of October shortly before 3 am City Police attended at a fast food place on Great Northern Road for a motor vehicle collision that had occurred in the drive thru lane.

It is alleged that a pickup truck operated by a 28-year old male pulled forward in the lane and struck a car in the adjoining lane. Damage to the car was light and there was no damage to the pickup truck.

When officers arrived on scene and spoke to both parties they observed that the driver of the pickup truck was under the influence of alcohol. As a result 28-year old Kenneth McKey of 397 Boundary Road was charged with one count of consume over the legal limit.  He will appear in court on November 18th.
