Update on aggravated assault investigation: In regards to this matter the two female suspects have been identified. The police service would like to thank the public for their assistance.

26-year-old Ryan Derasp of Wellington Street West was arrested this morning on an outstanding warrant. The warrant alleged that Dersasp missed court on April 28 of this year. Derasp is now scheduled to appear in court on June 9.

34-year-old Lionel Lloyd Taylor was arrested today on a probation and parole warrant. Taylor, of Queen Street East is alleged to have breached 2 conditions of his probation and is scheduled to appear in bail court tomorrow at 10 a.m.

It is alleged that on May 3, 2014 at approximately 3:56 a.m. the accused Robert Atkinson, age 20 of Glengary Gate Crescent, did assault the victim by punching him once on the right side of the victim’s head. The victim fell to the ground unconscious. The victim did require emergency surgery. On May 4, 2014 the accused turned himself in to police.  The accused was arrested for aggravated assault and will appear in bail court on May 5, 2014 at 10 a.m.
