40-year-old Karen Swanson, of Albert St. East, has been arrested and charged with one count of assault and one count of breach of probation following an altercation on Queen St. at 10:25 this morning.

40-year-old Karen Swanson, of Albert St. East, has been arrested and charged with one count of assault and one count of breach of probation following an altercation on Queen St. at 10:25 this morning. Police were called to the corner of Queen and Dennis Streets outside Scoops for two women fighting. It is alleged that Swanson punched another woman known to her in the face and head and pushed her down. Swanson will appear in court on June 30, 2014.

On May 19 at approximately 9:30 patrol officers had occasion to interact with 19-year old Jessica Pilot of 132 Dennis St.  A records check of Ms. Pilot revealed she was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear for fingerprints as a result of a previous arrest.  The warrant was executed and Pilot was arrested, she will be appearing in court June 23, 2014.  
 
On May 18, 2014 the accused, Jody Leo Burns (Pearce), was seen in the area of the Howard Johnson on Trunk Road. A check of the individual was done and revealed that the accused was on an undertaking from Sudbury with a condition to report any change of address. The accused [allegedly] failed to inform Sudbury police that he is living in the Sault. The accused Jody Leo Burns, age 20, of no fixed address, was arrested for breach of undertaking and will appear in WASH Court (weekend and statutory holiday court) on May 19, 2014.

On May 19, 2014 it is alleged that the accused Jonathan Nathaniel Thompson, age 19 of 6 Copernicus Drive, entered a residence in the 800 block of Pine Street and robbed the resident at gun point of money. While in the residence the accused was [allegedly] masked in an attempt to hide his identity. The accused also [allegedly] obtained the victim’s car keys and on leaving stole the victim’s vehicle. With the assistance of Batchewana First Nation Police (Rankin) and the OPP, city police apprehended the accused near the MacDonald’s Restaurant on Trunk Road. The accused was found in possession of stolen property and a replica hand gun.  The accused stands charged with robbery with a firearm, wearing a disguise in the commission of an offence, pointing a firearm, concealing a firearm, theft over $5,000, possession over $5,000 and possession under $5,000.  The accused will appear in Wash Court (weekend and statutory holiday court) on May 19, 2014.
