The following four persons are to appear in bail court this morning: 1) 41 year-old Craig Barkley of a centrally located address was arrested on the 1st of March at his residence and charged with one count of assault, one count of assault with a weap
The following four persons are to appear in bail court this morning:

1) 41 year-old Craig Barkley of a centrally located address was arrested on the 1st of March at his residence and charged with one count of assault, one count of assault with a weapon and one count of possession of a weapon for purpose dangerous to public. It is alleged that on the 1st of March around 2 pm the accused pushed and threatened another tenant at his centrally located residence. At the time he was making the threats he was holding an axe. The victim was not injured.

2) A 30 year-old male was arrested on the 2nd of March at 9:42 at his west-end residence and charged with two counts of assault, one count of threaten death or bodily harm, one count of mischief, two counts of possession of a controlled drug or substance and three counts of breach of probation. It is alleged that on the 2nd of March at approximately 9:35 pm the accused got into a verbal argument with his common-law spouse at their downtown residence and threatened to kill her and assaulted her by punching her several times in the face. At the time of his arrest he was found in possession of a small amount of cannabis resin and cocaine. At the time of the incident the accused had been drinking and was on a probation order with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, not to harass, molest or physically interfere with the victim and not to consume any alcohol or non-prescribed drugs. The victim received non-life threatening injuries. It is further alleged that the accused caused mischief to the police cruiser when being transported. The accused was brought to the hospital to be examined and allegedly spat on a nurse.

3) A 36 year-old male was arrested at his residence on the 29th of February at 6:28 pm and charged with one count of assault, one count of sexual assault and one count of forcible confinement. It is alleged that on the 29th of February at approximately 5 pm the accused sexually assaulted his wife and attempted to choke her. It is further alleged that he locked her in a bedroom and would not let her leave.

4) 21 year-old Jordon Driver of #208-27 Terry Fox Place was arrested on the 1st of March at 2:27 am on Wellington Street West and charged with one count of breach of a release document and one count of breach of probation. It is alleged that on the 1st of March around 2:27 am city police located the accused walking in the area of Wellington Street West in an intoxicated condition and at the time he was on a probation order with an 11 pm curfew condition and on an undertaking with conditions that he not consume any alcohol.

The following three persons were arrested in relation to impaired driving:

1) 60 year-old Lynn Moore of 7 Crawford Avenue was arrested on the 2nd of March at 12:43 am on Great Northern Road and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. It is alleged that on the 2nd of March at 12:30 am the accused was driving a Toyota Corolla northbound on Great Northern Road and swerved several times into the centre lane and almost struck a police cruiser. When police stopped and checked the driver they found her to be under the influence of alcohol. The accused is to appear in court on the 7th of April.

2) 38 year-old Ronald Tyynela of #109-35 Princess Crescent was arrested on the 1st of March at 3:20 pm on Princess Crescent and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of fail to provide breath sample. It is alleged that on the 1st of March at 3:15 pm the accused was located in the parking lot of 35 Princess Crescent passed out in the driver’s seat of his vehicle with the engine running. At the time police were checking him he was found to be under the influence of alcohol. The accused was transported to the station where he refused to provide a breath sample. He is to appear in court on the 7th of April.

3) 59 year-old Terrance Beek of #7-17 Terry Fox Place was arrested on the 29th of February at 6:40 pm at Terry Fox Place and Dacey Road and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. It is alleged that on the 29th of February at 6:21 pm the accused was involved in a motor vehicle collision at Terry Fox Place and Dacey Road. The accused was driving a Dodge Dakota pick up southbound on Dacey Road and attempted to turn onto Terry Fox Place cutting across the entrance way and struck the front end of Hyundai Elantra that was at the corner waiting for traffic to clear to turn onto Dacey Road. When officers attended to investigate the accident they found the accused to be under the influence of alcohol. There were no injuries reported in the accident. The accused is to appear in court on the 7th of April.

Serious Snowmobile Accident

Officers from Traffic Services are continuing to investigate a serious snowmobile crash involving two snowmobiles that collided head-on at approximately 3:31 pm on the 2nd of March. The accident occurred in the Mark’s Bay area located off of Airport Road. The two male operators, ages 23 and 15, were transported to hospital with serious injuries. There are no further details to release at this time.

The following break and enters were reported over the weekend:

1) The Petro Pass on Black Road was entered on the 3rd of March at approximately 2:56 am. Cigarettes and windshield washer fluid were reported stolen.

2) A residence on Albert Street East was entered between the 26th of February and the 2nd of March. A wallet, some money, meat and a 20 inch television were reported stolen.

The following mischief reports were taken over the weekend:

1) A front window of a residence on Farewell Terrace was broken on the 2nd of March around 5:20 pm.

2) A residence on McNabb Street was egged on the 2nd of March around 3 am.

3) A window at the Country Life Restaurant on Queen Street East was broken sometime on the 1st of March.
