The following six persons will be appearing in bail court this morning: 1. Peter McDonald, age 37, of 382 Pim St. It is alleged that on Friday March 7th the Sault Ste Marie Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit (I.C.E.
The following six persons will be appearing in bail court this morning:

1. Peter McDonald, age 37, of 382 Pim St. It is alleged that on Friday March 7th the Sault Ste Marie Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit (I.C.E. UNIT) was executing a search warrant on Mr. McDonald’s computer when they discovered several images of child pornography. As a result Mr. McDonald has been charged with one count of possession of child pornography. The investigation into this matter is continuing.

2. A 51-year-old male is charged with one count of an indecent act, two counts of sexual assault and two counts of criminal harassment. It is alleged that the accused did between September 2007 and March 2008 sexually assault two young girls. It is further alleged that the during the same time period the accused harassed the two young girls, on several occasion, by walking in on the girls while they were in the bathroom. It is also alleged that between September 2007 and March 2008 the accused indecently exposed himself to the girls.

3. A 36-year-old female is charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that on Friday March 7th at approx. 4:00 pm the accused punched her common-law partner several times to the head. The victim did not require medical attention. The incident took place at the west end residence of the accused.

4. Jordan Porter, age 18, of 603 Second Line W. Unit # 4 is charged with one count of obstruct police and five counts of breach of probation. It is alleged that on Saturday March 8th at approx. 3:40 am the accused consumed alcohol, was out past his curfew time, was in the company of a person that he was prohibited from being with and failed to keep the peace. It is further alleged that the accused falsely identified himself to police.

5. A 17-year-old male is charged with three counts of breach of probation. It is alleged that on Sunday March 9th at approx. 12:45 am the accused was located on Pine St. in an intoxicated condition. At the time of this offence the accused was on probation with conditions that he not consume alcohol, remain in his residence from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am and that he keep the peace and be good.

6. A 57-year-old male is charged with one count of threatening, two counts of breach of probation and one
count of breach of a recognizance. It is alleged that on Sunday March 9th the accused threatened to burn down his ex-wife’s residence. At the time of the offence the accused was on a probation order and a recognizance peace bond to not molest, harass or annoy the victim.

Possession of a dangerous weapon & Assault

On Friday March 7th at approx. 9:15 pm Alan Bertrand, age 22, of 6 Linden Dr., Heyden turned himself in to the Sault Ste Marie Police Service and was charged with one count of possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, one count of assault with a weapon causing bodily harm and one count of assault causing bodily harm. It is alleged that at approx. 2:30 pm on Friday March 7th the accused and another male person attended at a west end bar and while there they assaulted a male known to them with a baseball bat. Both accused fled the scene prior to police arrival. The victim of the assault was taken to the Sault Area Hospital and treated for a broken leg. A warrant is being issued for the second suspect. Mr. Bertrand will be appearing in court on April 7th at 9:00 am.

Impaired Driving

On Friday March 8th at approx. 5:10 am city police arrested 18-year-old Jeremy Teresinski of 1412 Airport Rd and charged him with one count of impaired driving and one count of drive over 80mgs.It is alleged that on Friday March 8th at approx. 4:45 am a witness observed the accused was operating his vehicle on Base Line in an erratic manner. Police were called and upon arrival observed the accused to be impaired by alcohol. The accused will be appearing in court on April 7th at 9:00 am.

Assult at the Rosie

On Saturday March 8th at approx. 1:35 am city police arrested Jeremy Barnes, age 27, of 289 Kingsford Rd. and charged him with two counts of assault and one count of assault causing bodily harm. It is alleged that at approx. 1:00 am on March 8th the accused assaulted two females and one male while at the Roosevelt Hotel. The two female victims were pushed and punched but did not require medical attention. The male victim suffered numerous cuts and bruises to the face and head area and was transported to the Sault Area Hospital for treatment. Mr. Barnes will be appearing in court on April 14th at 9:00 am.


The Sault Ste Marie Police Service investigated three reports of break and enters this past weekend.

1) An attempted break-in took place at a residence in the 200 block of Wellington St.E. on March 8th at approx. 11:20 pm.

2) A residence in the 100 block of Goulais Ave. was entered on march 9th between 10:00 pm and 11:00 pm. Electronic equipment and DVDs were stolen.

3) The Algonquin Hotel, 864 Queen St.E. was entered and a quantity of cash was stolen from the safe. Entry took place after closing on Saturday night March 8th to early morning March 9th.
