On June 2, 2017 officers from the Patrol Services Division with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 27-year-old male in relation to a domestic violence incident.

Domestic violence incident

On June 2, 2017 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 30-year-old male in relation to a domestic violence incident.

It is alleged that on June 2, the accused attended the residence of an ex-girlfriend and forced his way into her residence by forcing a window open. It was further alleged that the accused had assaulted the female on May 18, 2017 by grabbing her by the hair and pulling her head around. The accused also repeatedly communicated with the victim between May 18, and June 2, causing her to fear for her safety.

The accused was located on June 2, 2017 by police and charged with one count of assault, one count of break and enter and one count of criminal harassment.  He was held for WASH court. 

Domestic violence incident

On June 2, 2017 officers from the Patrol Services Division with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 27-year-old male in relation to a domestic violence incident.

It is alleged that on June 2, 2017 the accused attended his girlfriend’s residence and entered without her consent.  Once inside the accused engaged in a verbal argument with the victim and police were contacted. 

The accused was soon after located by police and arrested. Upon his arrest the accused was found to be bound by a probation order with conditions that he keep the peace and be of good behaviour, have no communication with the victim and not be within 100 meters of the victim’s residence. He has been charged with one count of unlawfully in a dwelling and three counts of breach of probation. He was held for bail court. 

Male charged with theft

On June 1, officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested 46-year-old Michael Ansley of Wellington Street East in relation to theft.

It is alleged that on June 1, 2017, the accused attended a grocery store located on Trunk Road and selected various items valued at approximately $50. The accused left the store without paying for the items.

Mr. Ansley was arrested stopped by store security and police were contacted. The accused has been charged with one count of Theft Under $5,000. He will appear in court July 4, 2017.
