The following five persons will be appearing in bail court this morning: 1. Jacob Gilbert, age 20, of 1001 Second Line W. Apt # 53. Yesterday evening, at approx. 5:25 pm city police attended at 1001 Second Line W. and arrested Mr.
The following five persons will be appearing in bail court this morning:

1. Jacob Gilbert, age 20, of 1001 Second Line W. Apt # 53. Yesterday evening, at approx. 5:25 pm city police attended at 1001 Second Line W. and arrested Mr. Gilbert on an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that Mr. Gilbert failed to appear for court on Nov. 26th 2007. He is charged with one count of failing to appear in court.

2. Marcel Sutherland, age 40, of 429 Wellington St. E. Apt # 3

3. Andrew Sutherland, age 36, of 429 Wellington St. E. Apt # 3

It is alleged that on Saturday Feb 9th at approx. 4:30 pm the two accused were at a centrally located address and while there they assaulted a male person. The two accused punched and kicked the victim numerous times. Police were called and both accused males were arrested and charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm. The accused Andrew Sutherland was further charged with one count of threatening. It is alleged that Andrew Sutherland threatened a witness at the scene. The victim was taken to hospital for his injuries.

4. Robert Hrynkiw, age 38, of no fixed abode. On Friday Feb. 8th the accused attended at the city police
station and turned himself in for a breach of a recognizance. It is alleged that the accused, who was on a
recognizance release order failed to abide by a condition of that order - to notify city police of any
address change. Mr. Hrynkiw is charged with one count of breach of a recognizance.

5. Corey Marshall, age 31, of 564 Wellington St. W. On Friday Feb 8th 2008 city police attended at 564
Wellington St. W. and arrested Mr. Marshall on warrants for dangerous driving, fail to remain, three
counts of breach of probation and several highway traffic act charges. The offences date back to June,
October and November of 2007.

Impaired Driving

On Saturday Feb 9th at approx.5:40 pm city police arrested 45-year-old Robert Godina, of 368 Bush St and charged him with one count of impaired driving and one count of drive over 80mgs.It is alleged that Mr. Godina was operating his vehicle on Great Northern Rd. in an erratic manner. When he was stopped by the city police it was determined that his ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol. Mr. Godina will be appearing in court on March 17th at 9:00 am.

Assault

On Friday Feb 8th at approx.4:15 pm city police arrested 26-year-old Jamie Wilson, of 167 Poplar Ave. and charged him with one count of assault. On Saturday Feb 9th 2008 city police again arrested 26-year-old Jamie Wilson and charged him with one count of public mischief. It is alleged that on Sat. Feb 2nd the accused assaulted a male known to him, by punching and kicking the victim. This incident occurred at a west-end address. The victim did not require medical attention. In the second incident it is alleged that on Feb 3rd 2008 the accused reported to city police that he was struck by a motor vehicle near the intersection of Texas Ave and Bennett Blvd. Investigation revealed that this incident did not occur. The accused will be appearing in court on March 10th at 9:00 am.

Possession of Prohibited Weapon

On Friday Feb 8th at approx.5:10 pm city police arrested 36-year-old Shane Simpson, of 1314 Wellington St.E. Mr. Simpson is charged with one count of possession of a prohibited weapon. It is alleged that on Feb 8th the accused was in possession of a “flick knife”. Mr. Simpson will be appearing in court on March 17th at 9:00 am.

Trafficking

On Saturday Feb 9th at a pprox.4:00 am city police arrested two males and charged them each with three counts of possession of a substance for the purpose of trafficking. It is alleged that while performing a traffic stop city police discovered a quantity of marihuana (160 grams), hashish (7 grams) and ecstasy pills (24 pills) in a vehicle being operated by the two accused. As a result Tyler Ames, age 24, of 44 Anna St. and Curtis Daynard, age 24, of 389 Pim St. were arrested and will be appearing in bail court today.

Break & Enter

City police are investigating a break and enter that occurred on Friday Feb 8th at approx. 11:50 pm at the Achieve Health Care located at 331 Wellington St. W. Electronic equipment was stolen.
City police received one report of a theft over the weekend. A vehicle parked in the 400 block of
Industrial Park Cres. was entered. Tools and stereo equipment were stolen.

City police also received one complaint of a mischief this weekend.

A vehicle parked in the 300 block of Pine Shores Dr. suffered damage to a window.

Mischief & Theft

On Friday Feb. 8tt at approx. 10:00 pm city police were called to the Holiday Inn, at 208 St. Mary’s River Dr. and later to the Water Tower Inn, at 360 Great Northern Rd. regarding mischief and thefts. It is believed that during the evening hours unknown culprits broke into several pop dispenser machines at both establishments. It is estimated that several thousands of dollars in mischief was caused in stealing money from the machines. It is not known at this time how much money was obtained.
