8:40 a.m. update:
Officers have cleared the multi-unit residence in the 200 block of Albert Street East. No weapon was recovered.
While officers were clearing the building, five people were arrested on the strength of unrelated warrants.
The investigation is ongoing.
7:15 a.m. update:
One person has been apprehended at the scene.

There is currently a large police presence in the 200 block of Albert Street East as officers investigate reports of a weapon in the area, says a news release.
Police urge community members to avoid the area to allow officers to focus their attention on the investigation.
