Two persons are to appear in bail court this morning: 1) 25 year-old Jason Gilbert of no fixed address was arrested on the 20th of November at 11:28 pm at the Sault Area Hospital and charged with one count of mischief under $5,000.
Two persons are to appear in bail court this morning:

1) 25 year-old Jason Gilbert of no fixed address was arrested on the 20th of November at 11:28 pm at the Sault Area Hospital and charged with one count of mischief under $5,000.00, one count of cause disturbance, one count of resist arrest, one count of being intoxicated in a public place under the Liquor Licence Act and one count of fail to leave premises when directed under the Trespass to Property Act. It is alleged that just before 11 pm last evening, city police received a call for assistance to the Algonquin Hotel on Queen Street East to remove a male that was causing a disturbance, was intoxicated and was refusing to leave. When police arrived they discovered that the male had put his head through the front glass window. Officers attempted to assist and deal with the male who continuously yelled at them, spat at them and attempted to kick and punch them. The accused was transported to hospital for treatment of facial injuries and continued to fight with officers and cause a disturbance at the hospital. He was treated and then taken into custody.

2) A 23 year-old female was arrested on the 20th of November at 11:18 pm at a centrally located residence and charged with one count of break, enter and commit. It is alleged that on the 20th of November around 11:10 pm the accused broke into her ex-boyfriend’s residence and assaulted him and a female that was also in the residence at the time by punching them in the head and face area several times. No injuries were reported.

Second Male Youth Arrested and Charged for Damaging and Spray Painting Vehicles:

Investigation Services continuing the investigation into the incident involving the three vehicles that were spray painted and tires slashed sometime Thursday night in the areas of Denwood Avenue and Birchwood Drive discovered that a second male youth was also involved. The 16 year-old male youth was arrested on the 20th of November at 10:40 am at his residence and also charged with three counts of mischief under $5,000.00 and three counts of trespassing at night. This accused will be appearing in court on the 23rd of December.

It is alleged that the two youths slashed the tires and spray painted offensive graffiti, including swastikas on two vehicles on Denwood Avenue and slashed the tires and spray painted a portion of a rear window of a vehicle on Birchwood Drive sometime in the early morning hours of the 20th of November.

The first 15 year-old male youth was arrested on the 20th of November at 4:40 am at his residence. He appeared in bail court yesterday.

Female Charged with Personation:

29 year-old Christina Saunders of 48 St Michaels Square was arrested on the 20th of November at 5:21 pm at Merritt’s Pharmacy on Wellington Street West and charged with one count of personation with intent. It is alleged that on the 20th of November at approximately 5:15 pm the accused attended at the pharmacy and falsely identified herself as another prescription holder in attempts to obtain oxycontin pills. She is to appear in court on the 22nd of December.

Shoplifter Arrested:

18 year-old Patricia Pheasant of 43 Gore Street (upstairs) was arrested on the 20th of November at 7:49 pm at the Hart Store in the Market Mall on Second Line West and charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00. It is alleged that around 7:35 pm on this date she attended at the store and stole some lingerie and mittens. She was apprehended by store employees and held for police. She is to appear in court on the 22nd of December.

Youth Arrested for Assault at Local High School:

A 14 year-old male was arrested on the 20th of November at approximately 1 pm in the parking lot of the Zellers on Northern Avenue and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that on the 20th of November just after 10 am the accused assaulted a fellow male student in the hallway at the high school by punching and kicking him. The victim attempted to walk away and the accused grabbed him, put him into a headlock and started to choke him. The incident ended when a teacher intervened. No injuries were reported at the time. The accused is to appear in court on the 23rd of December.
