Evening news: 36 year old Cynthia Assiginack was arrested on outstanding warrants this afternoon. It is alleged she failed to re-attend court in January of this year to answer to outstanding charges relating to breaching conditions.

36 year old Cynthia Assiginack was arrested on outstanding warrants this afternoon. It is alleged she failed to re-attend court in January of this year to answer to outstanding charges relating to breaching conditions. She will be appearing in Bail Court on Monday August 19th.

A 20 year old male was arrested by City Police officers early this morning and charged with 2 counts of assault, mischief and breaching his probation. It is alleged that while he was assaulting his girlfriend by pushing her to the floor he also assaulted a second female by hitting her arm as she was attempting to call the Police. The accused then ripped a bedroom door off its hinges and smashed it. He was also on probation to keep the peace and be good. He will be appearing in Bail Court on Monday as well.

On August 16, 2013 at approximately 7:30 A.M., City Police observed a vehicle that had been reported stolen in the area of the Group Health Centre on McNabb St.  When the vehicle was stopped, the driver fled on foot and was apprehended on Stevens St.  Rolland Lariviere, 20 yrs., of 568 Second Line W., was arrested and charged with theft over $5000 and possession of property obtained by crime.  He will be appearing in court on September 23, 2013.

On August 15, 2013 police responded to a domestic dispute in the 200 block of Wellington St. east between a 20yr old male and 20yr old female.  The male was arrested on outstanding warrants for impaired operation of a motor vehicle, consuming over the legal limit, failing to attend court, failing to attend for finger prints and theft under $5000.  The accused was a young person at the time of the driving offences. He will appear in bail court on August 16, 2013 at 10:00am.  The 20 yr old female was arrested for threatening to cause physical harm to the male.  A further check of the accused female found there were outstanding warrants for failing to attend court and theft under $5000.  The accused female will appear in bail court August 16, 2013 at 10:00am

Morning news:

On August 15, 2013 police responded to a theft complaint at Essar Steel. Information was received that security stopped a vehicle leaving the property and in doing so found property belonging to Essar Steel in the vehicle. Security located four steel plates, brass cylinders, batteries and a torch cutting tip.  Police arrested two accused for theft under $5000.  Allison David Smith age 55 of 346 Old Garden River Road will appear in court on Monday the 16th of September at 9:00am. Further Dino Nardi age 52 of 278 Borden Avenue will appear in court on Monday the 16th of September at 9:00am.

On August 15, 2013 police responded to a theft call at Rome’s Grocery Store.  The accused Darren Lambert of 25 Wellington Street West, upstairs apartment was observed by security officer conceal a beverage in a hand bag and leave the store.  Also found in the bag were other items taken from the Cambrian Mall. The property was returned to the vender.  The accused was arrested for theft under $5000 and will appear in court on Monday the 16th day of September at 9:00am

On August 15, 2013 police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 200 block of Wellington Street West.  During the investigation it was found that the accused threatened to physical harm to the victim.  A further check of the accused found there were outstanding warrants for failing to attend court and theft under $5000.  The accused age 20 will appear in bail court August 16, 2013 at 10:00am.

On August 12, 2013 the accused Keisha Irwin age 26 of 105 Harrison Garden Blvd. in North York Ontario, was staying at a local hotel with two other individuals.  It is alleged that the accused did steal money from the victim who was also staying at the same place.  The victim and the third person had left to go to work.  The accused also worked at the same profession and all three returned to the room at approximately 3:00am on August 13, 2013.  Once there the accused demanded the victim give accused her purse and then took it from her.  The victim then tried to retrieve her purse but the third female grabbed her arms.  The accused Irwin then allegedly took the victims cell phone and more money.  The two females then left the area.  Police were notified on August 15, 2013 and did locate the two females.  Both were arrested. The accused Keisha Irwin was arrested for robbery and theft under $5000.  The second female Sadia Ann Kanes Henry age 22, of 259 Sumach Street Toronto Ontario.  Both accused will appear in bail court on August 16, 2013 at 10:00am.
