On April 10, 2019, officers with the Patrol Services division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 31-year-old Joshua Mathieu of Park Street for impaired driving.
On April 10, 2019, officers noticed a car that had struck the back of a parked transport on Trunk Road. Upon checking to see if those involved were alright they detected a strong smell of alcohol on the accused. He was operating the car at the time of the collision.
He was taken into custody, and later registered a fail when a roadside breath sample was given. He is charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of blood alcohol over 80. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 13, 2019.
