Crash takes down utility lines, closes west-end intersection (6 photos)

Two-vehicle collision at Goulais and East Balfour Street sheared off utility pole

Sault police, fire services and three PUC vehicles responded to the scene of a two-vehicle collision at the corner of Goulais Avenue and East Balfour Street just before 2 p.m. Friday. 

There were no injuries reported but the collision led to the downing of a utility pole. 

Traffic is being diverted from the area and it is unknown how long the intersection will be closed.

One vehicle had already been towed away as of 2:30 p.m. 

The collision is under investigation.
