Cannabis resin and cocaine located during traffic stop

On June 6, 2017 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 33-year-old Raymond Gregoire of Grace Street regarding the possession and trafficking of a controlled substance.

At 3:30 a.m. officers observed the accused driving in the downtown area while he was known to be a suspended driver. 

Officers initiated a traffic stop and it was found that the accused was bound by a recognizance with conditions that he remain in his residence at all times except in the presence of his surety and that he reside in Brantford, Ont.

As a result, the accused was placed under arrest. When the accused was searched police located 5 grams of cannabis resin and 11 grams of cocaine along with debt lists and almost $2,000 in cash.

The accused has been charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance, one count of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and four counts of breach of recognizance. He will appear in bail court today.
