UPDATE: Police looking for robbery suspect who brandished gun

Officers were called to corner of McNabb and Pine streets at around 8:45 Saturday morning; police say suspect pulled out a gun after someone tried to retrieve stolen items

Sault Police are looking for a suspect who brandished a gun after robbing a business on McNabb Street this morning.

Officers were dispatched to the scene at around 8:45 a.m. on Saturday. Cruisers could be seen parked at the Circle K at the corner of McNabb and Pine streets, and at the Tim Hortons across the road.

One officer could be seen photographing a bicycle.

In a news release issued early this afternoon, police say someone attended a business, stole items, then “brandished a gun at someone attempting to retrieve the stolen items.”

Nobody was injured.

Despite an extensive search that included the Emergency Services and Canine units, no arrests have been made.

Patrol officers are no longer holding the scene but the investigation continues.

SooToday will provide more details as they become available.
