Early this morning, Sault Police officers charged a 42-year-old man with being unlawfully in a dwelling house, mischief, and uttering threats.
Shortly after midnight, a 911 caller reported an alarm call at a residence in the 0-100 block of Grace Street.
"Upon arrival, officers noticed damage to the door and located the accused sleeping on a couch inside the residence," police said in a release.
"They were arrested. An investigation revealed the accused had also threatened the victim in late January 2025. The victim and accused are known to one another."
Donald Larente is charged with:
- Unlawfully in Dwelling House
- Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
- Mischief – Under $5,000
- Failure to Comply with Probation Order x4
Larente was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
None of the charges have been proven in court and the accused is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
