On Jan. 27, 2019 officers with the Patrol Services Division of The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 20-year-old Kyle Lothrop of Garden River for impaired driving.
It is alleged that just after 5 a.m. the accused was located in the driver’s seat of a motor vehicle in the 600 block of Trunk Road. The accused was passed out with the vehicle running and in reverse gear. Officers were able to safely wake the driver and shut off the vehicle.
Officers found that the accused’s ability to operate the motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol and he was taken into custody.
He has been charged with one count of impaired operation of a motor vehicle and one count of operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level that was over the legal limit. He will appear in court on Feb. 25, 2019.
