Help save the Y, one pay-it-forward membership at a time!

Buy a Y membership for a community member in need and have your contribution matched dollar for dollar 10 times by generous local businesses (up to $100,000)!

For example, this means if you sponsor one youth monthly pass for $33.50, then $335.00 will be donated towards providing YMCA memberships for youth, families and seniors in our community. Donate below!   These sponsored memberships will offer priceless opportunities for community connection for children in need, families new to Sault Ste. Marie and seniors looking for a place to belong.

*All contributions are eligible for a charitable tax receipt.

Your support will help secure 169 local jobs, provide over 500 much-needed daycare spots, and maintain a community centre that benefits people of all ages and socioeconomic backgrounds. You can purchase a pay-it-forward membership until July 16 at 5:00 p.m.

NOTE: we are thrilled to announce that SooToday readers have stepped up! In just the first 12 hours, we have reached our goal of $10,000 in reader contributions - unlocking $100,000 in total contributions to the YMCA from the businesses and families listed below.  But don't stop!  Every sponsor of a membership helps!

A sincere thank you to our community partners who have made this membership match possible:

Century 21
Soo Foundry & Machine Ltd.
Soo Mill / The Hollingsworth Family
The Hilsinger Family
The Horbatuk Family

Thank you for helping to keep a longstanding cornerstone of our community alive.

Please READ THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS. Your credit card will be charged at the time of purchase. We recommend you use a credit card, not a debit card.

About YMCA

Our Vision

A connected YMCA for a healthier Sault Ste Marie.

Our Values

Values are cornerstones that make our society safe and workable. They are the principles of thought and conduct that help distinguish right from wrong and provide a foundation for decision making. Values, which are sometimes referred to as character, are the basis of who we are, how we live and how we treat others. The values we try to impart at the YMCA, through character development, are the following six "Core Values":

  • Caring: Acting with compassion and concern for the well-being of others.
  • Honesty: Demonstrating integrity and trustworthiness.
  • Respect: Recognizing and protecting the inherent worth of every person, including oneself.
  • Responsibility: Being dependable and accountable for choices, actions and commitments.
  • Excellence: Striving to provide the highest quality at all times.
  • Social Inclusion: Appreciating diversity. Striving to be open to all. Seeking to understand differences and find common ground.

At the YMCA we believe that living with and acting on our core values contributes to the development of a healthy self-esteem and overall personal happiness.
