A scaled-back Remembrance Day ceremony took place today at the Sault Ste. Marie cenotaph.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the public was asked to observe Remembrance Day at home.
The event included the traditional laying of wreaths by local dignitaries as well as a fly-over and military salute.
This year marks the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, as well the 75th anniversary of Canada’s Liberation of The Netherlands, and the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.
