We surprise an entire neighbourhood with a Random Act of Kindness

Under the guise of a simple community barbecue, the SooToday team delivered our latest Random Act of Kindness surprise.

We invited an entire neighbourhood to attend a barbecue. What the attendees didn't know is that we had much more than hamburgers and hot dogs in store for them.

With the help of our generous sponsors, including GFL Environmental, Algoma Steel, Best Buy and M&M Food Market and the support of Canadian Tire and N1 Solutions Inc., we were able to surprise Saultites with countless items, including children's bikes, hockey equipment, snowsuits, winter gear, televisions and electronics, cookware and more. 

Our partners were thrilled to give back to the community by supporting this Random Act of Kindness event.

"Seeing the faces of the families and children receiving gifts truly magnifies the importance of giving back," said Chris Dovigi, area Director of GFL Environmental, who joined fellow sponsor Algoma Steel on-site to help distribute the many gifts to community members.
