Video gamers assemble! The UMG Pro-Am tournament is coming to Sault Ste. Marie. The tournament, which sees teams of pro and amateur gamers compete in an elimination tournament format, has a $10,000 prize pool up for grabs.
Mayor Christian Provenzano will be dusting off his controller to participate in the event--all for a good cause. His team will be competing for charity, with all proceeds raised going to the Thrive Child Development Centre. Players can bid to play on the mayor's team, or, on the team opposing him. The public can bid on spots, here.
The weekend long event at The Machine Shop is open to the public, with spectators able to attend for free. Entering a 4-player team is $150 and includes weekend passes to all events, two 30-minute games, and a shot at the prize money.
