New Social Services video demonstrates what it's like to shop for groceries below the poverty line

Social Services has created a video demonstrating the difficulty and reality for people experiencing poverty in Sault Ste. Marie to purchase healthy food.

The video, shot locally at City Meat Market, catches the reactions of customers when paying for groceries at five times the cost.

Social Services can help with training, child care and housing supports for low income individuals and families in the Sault Ste. Marie district. Our programs focus on literacy, education and upgrading, job skills, self-employment and training. We also assist with transportation, child care, work placements or removing other barriers to employment.
