Joe Krmpotich: 8,535

Elections Ontario reports 43.93 per cent of eligible voters turned out.

10:55 p.m. update:

“I want to say something to Kathleen Wynne: I’m coming,” Romano told supporters tonight. “We will be ignored no longer. You seem to think nothing exists north of Barrie. We are here and I intend to make sure you hear us loud and clear.”

With 169 of 174 polls reporting, unofficial results from Elections Ontario show Romano with 10,143 votes, beating out the NDP's Joe Krmpotich by a margin of 1,886.

With more than a 1,400-vote lead, it looks like Ross Romano will walk away the winner tonight in the provincial byelection to replace MPP David Orazietti.

SooToday is at Romano's election-night gathering at Quattro and will be livestreaming video when Romano addresses the crowd.

The Ward 6 Councillor appears to be coming out ahead of his wardmate, NDP candidate Joe Krmpotich.

Former mayor, Liberal candidate Debbie Amaroso, is trailing the frontrunners in third place.
