Drive careful, road conditions are poor

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service would like to advise the public that road conditions are not good and are deteriorating. Visibility is reduced and roads are icy.

If you can avoid driving please do so. If you must driver slow down and adjust your driving to the road conditions.

In addition the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service had received information that the Ontario Provincial Police are closing Highway 17 East between the city limits and Thessalon.

The Ontario Provincial Police will advise the public when the highway is reopened.

Please do not call 911 for road conditions. Road conditions can obtained by calling 511.
