It's time to remember and celebrate Sue Barber

Longtime theatre personality to be honoured later this month
Sue Barber Local2

SooToday received the following note from Aubrey Falls, husband of the late Sue Barber, regarding a celebration of life planned for later this month:

*************************
Last August, the Sault lost a dynamic creator and supporter of the arts, a dedicated teacher, and a very dear friend to many, Susan Barber.

Sue’s friends will be celebrating her life on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at The Pavilion at Algoma’s Water Tower Inn, from 2 to 6 p.m.

There will be a memorial tribute starting at 3 p.m. when a few of Sue’s friends will provide a few laughs and some musical entertainment to honour her.

Sue’s husband, Aubrey Falls, will also be announcing details for The Susan Barber Memorial Bursary which will be made available to graduating students from all Sault Ste. Marie high schools.

While we reminisce and visit, there will be a cash bar available, along with some munchies.

If you are travelling in from out of town, be sure to make your reservation for one of the rooms set aside at the Water Tower Inn.

Aubrey welcomes Sue’s friends and former students to this Celebration of Life. We are so looking forward to seeing your smiling faces.

Sue’s theatre company, Shot in the Dark Productions, has continued her legacy with the staging of Noises Off in the fall, and most recently, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at The Tech Theatre.

Anthony Aceti, Megan Wigmore, and Cori Murdock, along with the rest of the good people at Shot in the Dark, will be completing their season of wacky comedy with the presentation of Young Frankenstein from April 19 to April 22 at The Tech.

Enjoying theatre and laughing in the company of friends is just what Susie ordered!
