Help requested in finding stolen monument

Crime Stoppers and the Anishinabek Police Service are looking for the public’s assistance in solving a theft. Sometime between the month of May and June 21, 2015 thieves made off with a stone monument from the Anglican Gravesite located on Point Charles Road.

Sometime between the month of May and June 21, 2015 thieves made off with a stone monument from the Anglican Gravesite located on Point Charles Road, Garden River First Nation.

On Father’s Day, June 21, 2015, family had attended at the gravesite of a family member to place flowers and discovered that their four and a half foot stone monument had been stolen. 

The monument held special meaning for the family who had it specially handcrafted for their loved one who had passed away.

The stone monument had the carving of a crane approximately the height of the stone with a turtle at the bottom of its feet.
