Meet Ward 4 candidate Marchy Bruni

One of Bruni's priorities is to keep taxes as low as possible for residents, commercial and industrial businesses
2018 Marchy Bruni

SooToday asked each of the candidates to submit a bio to introduce themselves to voters. Meet Ward 4 candidate Marchy Bruni:

I have been a resident of Sault Ste Marie my whole life.  I was elected as a Ward 5 Councillor for the past two terms (2010-2018).  I am now seeking for re-election for the new Ward 4.

I am employed at the Ontario Lottery Corporation for the past 27 years and previously worked at Algoma Steel for 13 years.  I am a graduate of Lakeway Collegiate and Sault College.

I am married to Rose Bruni for the past 36 years and have two grown children and a daughter-in-law (Michael, Meeka and Angela).

Throughout my years I have been a committed individual who has been involved with the community as a hockey coach, soccer coach, served 10 years as a School Trustee and severed on numerous Boards and Committees.

I have been a highly committed and passionate councillor for the past 8 years and have only missed one council meeting during my two terms.  I take my role as a councillor very serious as I have been voted by the constituents of this ward.

My priorities if re-elected as the Ward 4 councillor will be:

  • Continue to serve and respond in a timely manner to my constituent’s phone calls and emails with all their concerns and to visit each house hold when called upon.

  • Keeping taxes as low as possible for the residents, commercial and industrial businesses.

  • Continue to be involved on local Boards and Committees.

  • Continue to promote SSM by working alongside SSMEDC, the SSM Innovation Centre, Tourism and other Key stakeholders to attract more investment and generate more opportunities for our youth to remain in Sault Ste. Marie.

It has been an honor and privilege to serve as Councillor of Ward 5 (New Ward 4) and the city of Sault Ste. Marie and hope I have earned the trust of my constituents and gained the confidence from the residents by re-electing me for another term of effective representation.
