With over 60 shops, services, and restaurants to serve the people of Sault Ste. Marie, the Station Mall is the place to go for just about anything the community needs, including food, tax prep, movies, clothing, jewelry, and so much more.
However, the Station Mall does a lot more than just provide a place for shops and services. It is a hub for community support and charitable giving, as well.
“We have supported organizations like Christmas Cheer, the Salvation Army, the Soup Kitchen and more,” explained Station Mall marketing coordinator, Jesus Beltran. “We also have a very special event in the works for later on this year, that we are in the midst of planning, now.”
The Station Mall was the main depot for donations for the yearly Christmas Cheer campaign this year. Volunteers spent months collecting, sorting, customizing, and packaging donations that were picked up and distributed across the community, to make Christmas a lot brighter for almost 2,000 families in Sault Ste. Marie and area.
“In September, we hosted a free Retro Movie Day in support of the Soup Kitchen here in the Soo,” Beltran said. “People were encouraged to bring donations of non-perishable food and come out to the movies. We collected over 800 food items through that initiative.”
The Station Mall hosted a Holiday Movie Day in December, with donations going to the Salvation Army. It was another resounding success.
“We also are a host location for the Salvation Army’s new touchless Christmas Kettle, every holiday season,” said Beltran. “Shoppers can simply tap their credit or debit cards to donate to this important local charity.”
Beltran added, “It is really important for all of us at the Station Mall to support our community, in every way we can. We really believe in taking care of everyone, to make Sault Ste. Marie a wonderful place to live.”
The Station Mall is located at 293 Bay St. in Sault Ste. Marie. Hours are Monday to Friday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Sunday 12 noon to 5 p.m.
