The Cameco team is looking forward to hosting and attending another free barbecue for the community, at Sellers Park in Blind River on Thursday September 12 from 4 to 6 p.m.

This is the second year Cameco has hosted the community barbecue. Last year’s event also celebrated Cameco’s 35th anniversary.

“This is an excellent opportunity for our leaders and subject matter experts to share information about our Blind River Refinery and other Cameco operations with the public, in a relaxed atmosphere along the shore of the Lake Huron,” said Terry Davis, general manager of Blind River Operations.

The barbecue is free to the public and all ages are welcome. The menu will include hamburgers, sausages, hotdogs, assorted salads, chips, and desserts.

“This event is a wonderful opportunity to give back to the community that supports our operations,” added Davis.

He continued, “We always welcome the opportunity to see familiar faces, meet new people, and share information about our company such as our environmental monitoring program, regulatory compliance, nuclear fuel cycle, as well as the results from our recent Blind River community survey.”

Everyone in the community is welcome to attend the Cameco Community Barbecue, September 12 at Sellers Park, on Lakeside Ave. in Blind River.
