Kinross Speedpark to host Racing Weekends Across America event

The afternoon of fun, family entertainment will include a full show of Modified, ABC Stock Car and Four Cylinder Divisions

KINROSS, MICH. - Fox Boyz Racing and the Kinross Speedpark will make their second attempt at the Melling Performance Racing Weekends Across America event this coming Sunday, Aug. 6 at the Kinross Speedpark.

Time trials begin at 1:30 p.m. with racing action at 3 p.m.

After a rainout at the end of July, the track will be looking to kick-off the second half of their 2017 local stock car racing season.

The afternoon of fun, family entertainment will include a full show of Modified, ABC Stock Car and Four Cylinder Divisions plus the 141 Auto Sportsman from the Norway Speedway are tentatively scheduled to make the four+ hour trek to try to tame the 1/4 mile asphalt oval.

Post-race the track will hold a pitside autograph session for the kids.

The first 100 kids will receive a free checkered flag to get signed by their favourite driver(s).

Main grandstand admission will continue at Fan Appreciation pricing of just $5 for adults, seniors and students; while kids 11 and under are free.

Heading into Sunday, Dustin Jackson (#4) holds a comfortable lead at the top of the Modified Division points standings. The Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. product is one of four different drivers to have won a feature this season in track’s top division.

Marl Porpealia (#28, Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.) and Buddy Gray IV (#24 JR, Petoskey Mich.) round out the top three positions.

Dennis Aho (#75, Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.) brings a five point lead into the day for first place in the ABC Stock Cars A-Division. The veteran pilot paces Tony Rankin (#8, Kinross, Mich.) and Jason Praysner (#5, Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.) for the final two podium positions.

The battle remains as heated for the ABC Stock Car B-Division as it is a five point separation between Brandon Carson (#54, Petoskey, Mich.) and John Carter (#29, Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.) for the overall lead. Goulais River, Ont. competitor Buddy Palahnuk (#26B) rounds out the top three.

While in the Four Cylinder Division it’s a brother-sister duo sitting battling for current points lead. Brent Fewchuk (#3, Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.) enters action with 132 points compared to Rebecca Fewchuk's (#99, Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.) 113. Three-time fast qualifier Don Dangler Jr. (#15, Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.) sits third.
